Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete your MyCampusClosets account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to make that request and what happens after you do.

1. How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account yourself from the app: go to More → Delete account.

Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Delete my account. This is permanent and immediate — your account and personal data are erased and cannot be recovered, and you are signed out and cannot sign back in.

Any outstanding rentals, orders, or damage claims must be completed or resolved, and any outstanding fees cleared, before deletion. If you cannot access your account, email hello@mycampusclosets.com from the email address on your account and we will verify and process the request for you.

2. What Gets Deleted

When we process your request, we remove:

• Your profile (name, username, .edu email, school affiliation, profile photo)
• Your Fit Card sizing data and any body measurements you provided
• Your closet listings, photos, and descriptions
• Your messages with other users
• Your account and login credentials

3. What We Retain, and Why

We retain transaction records (rental and purchase history, payment and payout amounts) where required for legal, tax, accounting, or dispute- resolution purposes. These records are kept only as long as the law requires and are then permanently deleted. Payment card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

4. Timeline

Self-service deletion is immediate: your personal data is removed and your login is permanently disabled the moment you confirm. The only exception is the limited financial and transaction records described in Section 3, which are de-identified and retained only as long as the law requires. Requests we process on your behalf by email are completed within 30 days.

5. Facebook and Instagram Data

MyCampusClosets does not use Facebook Login, and you do not connect a personal Facebook or Instagram account to use the Platform. We therefore do not store personal data obtained from Meta about you. If you have any questions about Meta-related data, the deletion request above covers all personal data we hold about you.
